Road Rage or Road Kill?

On September 19, 2013 USA Today posted a story about two motorists who shot each other dead in Ionia Michigan, all because one driver was following to closely next to the other.

It is said that men, especially young men over 19, are provoked more easily and are the most aggressive drivers out there. Even though these two men were well over their 40's it raises the question how far is too far? If someone cuts you off or is tailgating you is it worth it to pull out a gun and pump them full of lead? Now that is taking the second amendment a little too far in my opinion.

And just as a reminder the second amendment is the right to bear arms, and now a days it feels like people are just taking full advantage of that. There is an average of 89 firearms for every 100 residents here in the U.S alone. True people are licensed to carry them but that doesn't mean they are limited to using them a certain way.

This isn't the only incident that came to light when someone was using a gun with deadly force. Most recently the school shooting in Connecticut was the most publicized and everyone started to look into having stricter gun laws and restrictions.

Shouldn't this be a message that people are actually careless and reckless enough to do something so stupid. It doesn't seem like these gun restrictions will be taking place soon or that the American public will wise up and say "Hey! Guns don't kill people, stupid people with guns kill people."

  1. While reading your article Road Rage or Road Kill I couldn't agree with you more! I agree with the fact that "...like people are just taking full advantage..."(Huizar) of the gun laws. The fact that to men killed there self just because one was driving to close is just pathetic and it was a great point to use. Adding on to that statement in I read in the article Guide To The Interstate Transportation Of Firearms that there is no actual federal law that declares anything against transporting firearms. I understand there is state laws but, are people really going to take the state law as serious as a federal law ? Of course not.

Not only are people taking advantages of the 2nd they are breaking the law! There has been 387 shootings since 1992... three hundred and eighty seven that's way to many. The first shooting at a school should have stopped after the first one. I agree that "... it doesn't seem gun restrictions will be taking place anytime soon..."(Huizar). I would rather give up my right to own again then to have another death caused by the stupid people who own guns and don't use them in the right way. And lastly, I also believe it is men, men without a heart that think they can just do as they please. There is something wrong with the men in this world , give up the gun and maybe you wont make a mistake you'll regret forever.
